About Me

Hi, I'm Robin. Nice that you found your way to my site! I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself:
Born in 1988, I'm a typical child of the nineties. I'm a married dad of two adorable girls who have been keeping me on my toes since 2020.
As a passionate physicist, I have been fascinated by nature and science for as long as I can remember. I'm just as quickly captivated by all-things-tech, as well as science fiction, fantasy and other nerdy stuff. Below you will find a few more detailed bullets on other favourite leisure activities of mine.

Dog Hikes

In the happy owner of two gorgeous collie ladies named Ember & Hazel. Having grown up with dogs, it was always clear to me that one day I would like to have a dog by my side. This was the case in 2017!
While I was finishing my PhD thesis, Ember moved in with us and Hazel followed soon after. So you meet us every day somewhere in the woods and fields of OWL, where the two of them give me the opportunity to switch off after a stressful day at work and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a moment.

Bouldering

When everyday life allows, I use my free time to work out in the bouldering halls around Bielefeld. Here you can often find me either alone, with good friends or with my girls who are desperate about one movement problem or another.
I got into sport through a good friend towards the end of my doctorate in 2018. Since then, I've been hooked, because the combination of puzzles, exercise and frustration tolerance offers me a wonderful balance to my predominantly sedentary working day.

Long-Distance Trails

I love nature. I love exploring new places. I love silence. Hiking long-distance trails became a passion soon after I finished school.
I started planning vacations and trips according to where the best hiking experiences could be gained. This took me all over Europe, including Iceland, Scotland, Norway and more.
My bucket list here is still long! Unfortunately, due to the exciting life of a young father, it will have to wait a little while...
